Monthly Recap — June 2023
Dear NextEarthians,
June has ended, marking the halfway point of 2023. As such, let’s take stock of the progress made during the first six months of this year, and, in particular, what we’ve achieved in the past month.
Next Earth Treasure Hunt Game: Alpha Testing Preparation
The development of the Next Earth Treasure Hunt Game is in its final stages, with the ultimate preparations for alpha testing involving more than a hundred NextEarthians. The first test commenced on 3rd July and lasted an hour before being halted; the rerun is scheduled to begin on 12th July.
Just a reminder: The Next Earth Treasure Hunt Game is our flagship project that illustrates the vast potential of our platform and technology for developing fun, engaging activities in our metaverse. Imagine the opportunities for companies or brands to join or sponsor a similar game, provide prizes, or sponsor specific locations!
The game’s features include:
- Enhanced land and NXTT utility
- Dynamic NFT technology
- An exciting, map-based gameplay
The Treasure Hunt encourages you to explore the Next Earth map in search of hidden treasure chests beneath the tiles. These chests are dynamic NFTs containing NXTTs, with the amount of NXTT increasing over time. You can uncover tiles using three different types of equipment: shovels, bombs, and radars.
AI-Image Contest for Treasure Hunt Game
To make the wait for the alpha and game launch more entertaining, we organized a Treasure Hunt Game Image Contest, where NextEarthians could express their creativity and win attractive prizes for use in the game.
Participants were challenged to create an image that represents their vision of a treasure hunt in the metaverse using Midjourney or any other AI-image generation platform. We were thrilled to receive a total of 32 exceptional entries, showcasing the immense creativity within our Next Earth community!
We have also made some UX improvements to the DAO-vote page compared to the last AI-contest vote, ensuring a smoother and more user-friendly experience for the Treasure Hunt AI Image contest. Congratulations to all the entrants and the winners, who will receive a Treasure Hunt Starter Pack to use after the game’s launch.
Marketplace Update: Recently sold function
A long-awaited feature has been fixed in the Marketplace of Next Earth in June: users can now explore the list of “Recently sold” lands, providing valuable insights into recent transactions. This highly anticipated functionality has been eagerly awaited by the community, and we’re excited to finally deliver it to you!
Next Earth: Highlights of H1 2023
After recapping June, let’s take a look at the thrilling developments and achievements of the first half of 2023. Here’s a concise, month-by-month summary for your convenience:
January
Land Tagging: We unveiled a feature allowing users to tag lands. This simplifies categorization and aids in creating themed collections of properties and land arts, enhancing the user’s ability to personalize their metaverse experience.
Land Sale Work-to-earn: In a pioneering move, we launched the first work-to-earn solution on Next Earth. This innovative program empowers users to operate as digital real estate agents and earn commissions. The process is straightforward: users can select and reserve up to 16 tiles for free for 30 days, and earn a 10% commission from the total sale price if the area is sold within that period.
Recently Sold Notification Pop-up: Enhancing the user experience, we incorporated a new notification feature into our app. A pop-up window now displays lands minted recently, offering insights into trending locations.

Next Earth AI Labs: We made a leap into the future with the announcement of our AI venture studio, Next Earth AI Labs. By embracing AI technology, we’ve unlocked a wealth of potential, paving the way for groundbreaking innovations.
March
Realization of First AI Projects
True to our commitment to innovation, a mere month after the inception of Next Earth AI Labs, several AI projects were activated. These include our AI educational platform, Promptmaster, aimed at educating users and businesses on AI usage.
The AI Stars Celebrity Chatbot was another notable launch, allowing users to converse with their favorite stars and fictional characters.
Another innovation was the introduction of AI-generated land descriptions, a feature that automatically crafts creative descriptions for lands based on user-provided tags.
April
Launch of Treasure Hunt Game and Resources MVP Development: The month of April marked the commencement of a major development project for Next Earth: the Resources MVP and Treasure Hunt Game. This project aims to demonstrate the capabilities of Next Earth and NEOS to businesses in a user-friendly and engaging way.
Partnership with Wheelcoin
In a move to promote sustainable practices, we initiated the first program of our strategic partnership with the Internet of Mobility (IoM) and its WheelCoin app. This Move2Earn (M2E) app rewards green mobility choices, and as part of this collaboration, Next Earth Metaverse

RisingStar Webapp launch
RisingStar, the first launchpad project of Next Earth, made significant progress in May on their journey to revolutionize the way users interact with 3D content: they launched the RisingStar Web App. Users no longer need to download a separate app, as the experience now runs smoothly on Android and iOS devices as well as desktop computers with a 3D viewer. The app also offers the flexibility to place extra 3D objects or stages around the models and build interactive experiences using target tracking. RisingStar Head of Product Mark Katona held a live AMA on Discord for the launch.In the near future, RisingStar plans to introduce Metamask integration for exclusive access and content to STAR token holders.
Launch of Next Earth Academy
Led by our Chief Product Officer, David Taylor, we curated an educational program spanning topics from internet basics to blockchain technology, tokenization, and the Next Earth ecosystem. Originally intended for our Ambassadors, we chose to make these resources universally accessible. Access the courses here.
Updated Next Earth website
We enriched the Next Earth website with new content elements. We added a dedicated section to promote community projects on our platform and feature the most popular lands from the Marketplace on the Next Earth homepage.
